Why is Hemp so Dang Expensive?

Why is Hemp so Dang Expensive?

All USA-grown hemp is highly regulated. Hemp farmers and processors must pay very expensive state licensing fees to do business.

Millions of dollars are spent each year on growing, cultivating, and processing the raw hemp plant. There are huge expenses involved in testing the crops before and after harvest. These thorough inspections ensure the crops are within legal THC limits. Free of pesticides and contaminants.

Once the raw Hemp flower is picked, clipped, and processed it’s ready to be delivered to the CBD extraction lab for final processing. Special ground transportation is required to keep the flower fresh.

The CBD extraction lab is kept in immaculate condition at all times cleaner than some hospital rooms. It consists of heavy security, and data log entries and requires sophisticated machinery (worth millions of dollars). After the process is complete it’s time for third-party lab testing. This testing ensures there are no impurities, and the product is safe to use.

Once given the green light the end product will be packaged, shipped, and marketed.  But unlike other products, there are regulatory hurdles in the supply chain.  CBD processing is a very costly and complicated process that makes CBD worth its weight in gold. No wonder it’s nicknamed “green gold.”
