Great News! Your furry friends also benefit from the therapeutic properties of Hemp. Particularly, if they are old, stressed, or feel uneasy in new situations.

In addition, CBD may help to soothe elderly pets’ aching joints and reduce inflammation.  Some research has shown veterinarians use CBD oil for pet seizures, anxiety, pain, and a host of other physical and neurological problems.

Some may wonder: If it does not contain the psychoactive THC, then why use CBD for pets with anxiety? CBD helps to stabilize and calm those reactions. For example, it could be very therapeutic for pets with debilitating, adverse reactions to loud noises and phobias.

Poor-quality CBD products won’t help your dog, but they also likely won’t harm your dog. “There are no known severe side effects to CBD,” Dr. Wakshlag says, “but there are some dogs that might be sleepier.

Each dose—whether from oil or chews—lasts from 4-8 hours. That’s a big spread, we know, but the duration can vary a lot depending on your pet’s size, activity level, breed, and the severity of their symptoms. But as a good rule of thumb: older pups tend to take longer than younger ones to digest food.
